RE:

What do we expect from each other, our environment, and ourselves? What are our obligations—to the planet and to one another? Partnering with Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids, RE· is an exhibition rooted in transformation, civic engagement, and environmental sustainability. As the world grapples with climate change, social inequity, and the consequences of unchecked consumption, this exhibition brings together local and global artists who critically examine our relationships with material culture, labor, and the natural world. Through diverse mediums—including sculpture, installation, digital media, and found-object assemblages—these artists highlight the tension between human industry and environmental fragility. Their works question patterns of excess and waste, interrogate economic structures that drive inequality, and explore accessibility within systems of power. At the core of these investigations is an urgent call to rethink our collective responsibility and recognize the interwoven nature of our actions—to reflect, engage, and shape a more just and sustainable future.
