"We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented." — Philip K. Dick Sightlines brings together eight international contemporary artists in an exhibition that interrogates the fluid boundaries between perception and reality. Through diverse media and conceptual frameworks, the artists question the reliability of what we see, how we interpret our surroundings, and the forces that shape our understanding of truth. Christopher Baker explores the tension between public and private communication in the digital age, while Nathan Coley's text-based interventions challenge notions of belief and collective memory. Julie Green's haunting imagery reflects on societal structures and personal histories, and Katarzyna Kozyra uses performance and video to subvert cultural expectations and expose hidden power dynamics. Dietmar Krumrey manipulates materials to create illusions that disrupt spatial perception, and Seungmo Park's intricately layered wire sculptures blur the line between solid form and ephemeral shadow. Alison Stigora engages with natural elements to explore themes of transformation and decay, while Prince Varughese Thomas examines media narratives and personal identity through politically charged visual storytelling. In an era of rapid technological advancement and evolving social discourse, Sightlines compels us to confront the biases, assumptions, and uncertainties that shape our worldview. Beneath the surface of what we accept as "fact" or "truth" lies a complex interplay of perspective, motive, and subjectivity. This exhibition invites viewers to critically examine the images before them and the mechanisms through which they see, interpret, and communicate their understanding of the world.
