When physical forms and materials converge with the human
body, it gives rise to unexpected solutions, to tangible and tactile knowledge essential for successful design. Such design shapes the way we engage with and move through our world, and our material decisions drastically change the way designs look, how they perform, and the sustainability of their life cycle.
The materials in this exhibition—from the cutting-edge to the commonplace—are examined from a fresh perspective, as are the designers who are thinking critically and creatively about the changing role and value of materials in the modern world.
