"Mountain: a force of Faketure" 8.22 - 9.20 Beverly Arts Center in Chicago Curators Audrey Peiper and Gabriel Akagawa have brought a new group of the ever-fluxuating Faketure Consortium of Artists to create artificial landscapes in and around the architecture of the Beverly Arts Center. A 'natural' landscape is translated into an artificial construction as opposed to a romantic ideal. Through diverse media, printmakers, painters, photographers, sculptors, and environmentalists leave a residue of complex thought processes in an effort to define contemporary nature, "Faketure".
